My name is Justin Geissinger and I am a runner.
During the summer before my freshman year in high school, I decided to dramatically change my life by losing weight and gaining energy. I decided to run to the end of the street.
After the first day, I thought I’d die. After the second day, I thought I’d pass out. At some point during that summer, I got addicted and never stopped. Now, over 20 years later, my goal is no longer making it to the end of the street, but, rather see how far I can go, how fast I can go, and who I can get to go with me.
Over the years, I’ve run after work with colleagues, in between classes with fellow students, before sunrise with neighbors and on many hot Tuesday nights with teammates. Perhaps one of the benefits that I appreciate most about running is the community it provides. Some years I’m surrounded by runners striving for the same goal, such as running the Boston Marathon. Other years I’m driven by friends struggling to manage chronic injuries to be able to continue to pursue the passion they love. Regardless, I'm always growing. I'm always changing. I'm always Refining, with one goal in mind: to be a better runner.
I'm also a physical therapist at Prana Functional Manual Therapy, a Christ follower, husband, father of four and amateur foodie.
